Jacques Kannemeyer
I work in linocut printmaking, hand-carving each block and printing small editions by hand. My work is rooted in bold visual storytelling — shaped by a lifelong love of illustration and comic art. I am drawn to themes of identity and imagination, and I am interested in the tension between slow, deliberate craft and the speed of the digital world. I hope that people who encounter my work feel something of that tension — and find in it a reason to slow down.

Jacques Kannemeyer is a South African printmaker whose work combines traditional linocut techniques with modern digital tools. Originally trained in graphic design in the late 1990s, his work is influenced by a lifelong fascination with bold visual storytelling and comic-inspired imagery. Using AI tools such as Midjourney during the concept development stage, Jacques hand-carves and prints every final artwork himself in small editions using a manual press. His work explores themes of identity, resilience, and imagination through detailed, narrative-driven prints.
